Client Testimonials

Don't just take our word for it—hear from our happy clients! They share stories about how the Micro-Strand® system has improved their lives and transformed their appearance.

  • Can I re-use my hair for a maintenance?
Absolutely! Our hair quality is outstanding, and we may re-use it multiple times. So there is no need to buy new hair every couple of months! For example, our European hair may last you from 8 months to a year and a half. Our Russian hair (with proper care) will last you for more than 1.5 years. During this period, it may be re-used multiple times.
  • When should I come in for a maintenance?
Maintenance on fusion extensions should be done when your hair grows for about 3-4 cm. On average, this happens in about 10 to 14 weeks. Tape-in, Bio, Nano-Link and Micro link extensions should have their touch-up once every 6 to 9 weeks when the hair grows for 2-3 cm.
  • Can I miss or postpone my maintenance or removal appointment?
No, it is extremally crucial for the health of the client's hair to come on time for their maintenance or removal appointment. As time goes, the hair grows, and the naturally shed hair starts accumulating in the bonds. If the client is postponing their touch-up or removal appointments, the shed hair will start tangling. The created tangles can potentially cause damage to the client's natural hair.
  • Does your extension remover contain Acetone?
No. Acetone can dry the hair and make it fragile. Our remover is Acetone-free and contains no harsh chemicals. In Fact, our remover contains glycerine and hydrolyzed silk. They protect the hair from breakage by closing the hair cuticle in the places of application. A drop of Keratin, that enhances the remover, softens the bond, so it requires the minimal use of the removing tool. A drop of our remover and 2 soft presses of the removing tool that is all it takes.
  • How will my fusion maintenance happen?
The maintenance on fusion extensions is a complicated procedure and has to be split in two separate days. 1 day: You come for the removal. Once your extensions are removed, your appointment is done, and your extensions have to go through the re-tipping procedure. The old bonds will be removed and replaced with the new. Please note that this will take 1 - 1.5 cm off the length of your extensions. The re-tipping procedure may take us from 4 to 6 hours, so you will have your re-application appointment booked for the next day or any other day that is convenient for you. 2 day. You come for your hair extensions to be re-applied. Re-application procedure is the same as the fitting procedure that you went through when you first got your extensions.
  • How will my Bio/Tape-in maintenance happen?
Your extensions will be removed and re-applied to your hair on the same day. This procedure will take about 3.5 hours.
  • Can I take time off from extensions?
Absolutely! If you wish to make time off from your hair extensions, you may come for the removal appointment. Your removed extensions will be given to you. Next time you want to get hair extensions, you may bring your hair back and we will re-tip and re-apply your extensions.
  • Which hair extensions are the best?
Remy hair extensions with 100% healthy cuticles are the best-quality extensions you will find. As a matter of fact, here at Berenice’s Hair, we only ever work with hair of such quality. So if you are looking for the best hair extensions the market has to offer, we will be glad to assist you in our studio.
  • What is Remy hair?
The term "Remy" means that all hair cuticles are aligned in the same direction. This hair identically mimics the direction of the natural hair growth (roots to the roots, ends to the ends). It does not tangleand is easy to brush. It is the only hair that should be used for hair extensions. Non-Remy hair will have its cuticles interlocking with the cuticles of the client's hair it is applied to. This will lead to the severe hair tangling that cannot be released with the help of any hair conditioner or hair mask. Non-Remy hair extensions are potentially dangerous for the health of the client's hair.
  • Are hair extensions permanent?
There is no such thing as permanent hair extensions. Here are the kinds of extensions available on the market. 1) Temporary, which you may wear on occasion. Some examples are Clip-In or String extensions. 2) Semi-permanent, which may stay in your hair for a few weeks or even months, depending on the method. This is the closest option to a permanent result that you will find. But it helps to remember that these methods still require regular maintenance appointments to shift the extensions higher up your natural hair as it grows out, and ensure that the strands stay in place and are safe for your hair. A good example of this kind of extension techniques are Micro-Bead, Nano Ring, Tape-in, Fusion and Bio extensions.
  • Are hair extensions suitable for everyone?
Hair extensions are a cosmetic procedure and should only be applied to healthy hair. Some medical conditions may restrict you from getting hair extensions: Vegetative-vascular dystonia; Medical hair loss conditions (such as alopecia/psoriasis/eczema); Infestations; Toxoplasmosis; Currently undergoing cancer treatment or taking hormonal medications; Breakage through the first couple of inches of the natural hair; Excessively greasy hair; Extremally sensitive scalp skin. However, there are no restrictions for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
  • My hair is thin, will hair extensions be visible?"
We custom craft hair extensions for our clients. Our miniature micro and nano fusion extensions allow us to achieve mind-blowing results in giving extra volume and length to the thin hair. Our hair extensions will be perfectly colour matched to your hair and will look neatly and natural. We pick the colour of Italian Keratin to your roots, this allows us to achieve the invisible bonds that you will not feel in your hair.
  • How are hair extensions put in?
Whether you opt for Micro-Bead, Nano-Ring or Fusion, what unites all these methods is how hair extensions are put in your hair in each case. An extension strand is attached to your natural hair strand by a bond or a bead slightly below the root area along the length of the strand. Depending on the extension method, the type of the attachment will change.
  • Can hair extensions be put in short hair?
If you wish to get hair extensions, your hair should at the very least be 5 - 7 cm long. When it comes to installing extensions, here at Berenice’s Hair we take up cases of any complexity. When you entrust us with your mane, you may rest assured that the end result will look natural and the bonds will be invisible in your locks, no matter their length or density.
  • Can a combination of extension methods be used?
Unfortunately, no. The extension method should be one. Combination of two or more hair extension methods will cause certain discomfort. Every extension method has different maintenance. Only fusion and Micro/Nano fusion methods can be combined.
  • Which hair extension method is best?
There is no unique extension method that will be a perfect fit for absolutely everyone. Each individual is unique, and so is their hair. To find the most suitable extension method for your type of hair, you need to consult a professional.
  • Are hair extensions real hair?
Good-quality hair extensions are made with real human hair, while cheaper extensions can be produced from faux materials.
  • What hair type is better?
The answer to this question is individual for every client and depends on their hair structure. We always have hair of different origin in stock. We prefer European and Russian hair because of their brilliant characteristics, such as their extra-long time of wear that allows our hair to be re-used multiple times.
  • Which hair extensions look the most natural?
For your extensions to look natural, they have to satisfy the following conditions: 1) They must be made with real human hair. 2) They must be Remy with a 100% healthy cuticle. 3) Their colour must be properly matched to your own hair. If your hair has strands of more than one tone, you may need to have extension bundles of a few different shades mixed together to blend well with your style (highlights are one example when this is needed). 4) The extension method must be selected based on your unique hair characteristics and your goal. 5) Extensions must be properly fitted in your mane. 6) You should have enough hair installed to cover the transition between extensions and your natural locks.
  • What hair extensions last the longest?
Real human hair with 100% healthy and intact cuticle structure will last you the longest. For example, the hair we use at our studio lasts our clients a year and more with proper care and regular maintenance appointments.
  • Are hair extensions expensive?
While you may find cheap hair extension options on the market, they will bring you nothing but disappointment. The thing is, if you want hair extensions that look natural and are easy to style or care for, there is no way around purchasing high-quality, real human hair. When you use cheap products manufactured with faux materials, you receive what you paid for, and nothing more. If you think about it, real human hair simply cannot be cheap if its quality is indeed as good as advertised. This is because the price of any extension hair includes: 1) Amount paid to the person selling their hair 2) A fee charged by the factory for hair processing (materials for disinfection, bleaching, dyeing, cost of labour, as well as all other costs associated with running the business, mark-up, etc.) 3) Shipping 4) Dues Take all this into consideration, and you will realize that high-quality hair is a costly material. So if someone is offering you real human hair at a cheap price, it means that they are either selling it at a loss (which never happens, since vendors usually want their businesses to stay afloat at the very least, let alone succeeding); or, most likely, the vendor has cut their expenses at the factory level. The latter leads to poor hair processing, and will undoubtedly reflect on the quality of the hair extensions that you purchase.
  • What is the cost of hair extensions?
The cost of hair extensions is individual for every person and is based on the following: Origin and quantity of the hair + Cost of custom making your extensions + Cost of applying hair extensions Refer to Prices and Services section for the price estimation. Book your free consultation today to get the exact price for your custom made hair extensions.
  • How many hair extensions do I need?
There is no single answer to this question. How much hair you need depends entirely on your goal, your natural hair’s thickness and length. We would highly recommend visiting our studio for an in-person consultation to estimate the amount of hair needed, and the resulting price.
  • Are hair extensions uncomfortable?
Hair extensions should never be uncomfortable or painful! Properly-fitted hair extensions will feel like your natural locks, and will be absolutely safe for your hair. If your extensions are hurting, it means they are exerting too much pressure and weight on your roots, slowly damaging your hair as a result. If you experience severe hair-extension-related discomfort to the point where you cannot sleep at night, you should pay a visit to your stylist to fix the bothersome extension strands as soon as possible. Good extension stylists provide FREE follow-up appointments within 7 to 14 days of your last fitting, just in case your new set of extensions feels uncomfortable. That’s because to a good stylist, your well-being is more important than simply making an extra buck.
  • What should I do if I feel discomfort or pain after hair extension application?
You may return to our studio within seven days after your fitting procedure if your new extensions cause any excessive unpleasant sensations. We will check the condition of your extensions, their bond attachments, and will work to eliminate any potential sources of your discomfort. We also offer a check-up between the procedures of fitting and maintenance/removal. Please note that this is different from a regular maintenance session. At a check-up, the hair artist will examine the state of your locks, comb your root area and give additional recommendations. The check-up is free of charge, all you need to do is book this appointment ahead of time.
  • Are hair extensions damaging?
Hair extensions are not damaging if all of the following conditions are met: Your hair extensions are done by the professional using a proper technique; The chosen extension method is right for your hair type; Extensions are fitted properly. Only the highest quality Remy hair and materials are used; You diligently follow the hair care instructions provided by your technician; Touch-ups or removal are done on time as recommended by your hair extensionist; Removal is done by the professional using a proper technique, not by yourself and not by your friend who watched YouTube tutorials (this is our favourite on the list as it may cause a very serious damage). Violation of any of these will lead to hair damage.
  • What hair extensions are the least damaging?
There is no extension method that would be perfectly safe for every single hair type. In order to avoid damage to your natural mane, your stylist should help you pick the method that will be suitable specifically for your hair needs. The extension application must be done correctly by a qualified professional; and you must diligently follow the care instructions you receive, including booking timely maintenance appointments.
  • Will my hair start shedding more after I get hair extensions?
No, it will not! However, an average person sheds 100 hairs per day. Having your hair extensions installed in your hair will lead to trapping the shed hair in the extension bonds. This is the hair that you may see shading during your touch-up or removal appointments. This is absolutely natural and is not a sign of the increased shedding.
  • When to remove hair extensions?
You should schedule a removal appointment right away in one of the following two cases, whichever happens first: 1) You notice that your extensions begin to tangle together or at the root area. 2) At the time your stylist recommends you return to the studio for a touch-up. Do not postpone your extension removal or maintenance if you find yourself in any of the above-mentioned situations. For example, if your extensions begin to tangle earlier than your recommended touch-up appointment time, don’t wait. Book your maintenance session right away, as tangling may cause damage to your natural hair.
  • Will hair extensions suit me?
They certainly will! Would you agree that smiles suit everyone? Because we have yet to meet a client who wouldn’t light up with a joyful smile at the sight of their brand-new look!
  • Is hair extension care difficult?
Hair extension care is not difficult, but there are some rules that you need to follow, so your hair stays healthy and good-looking.
  • What brush can I use?
Soft bristle brush with soft plastic bristles is the best for your hair as it won’t pull on your natural hair and will brush the area near the roots thoroughly, preventing your hair from tangling and accumulating of the buildup. These are our favourite brushes as they give a pleasant scalp massage :) The detangling brush can be used after a shower, but should not be the only brush you use, as they cannot brush thoroughly the area near the roots. Wide-tooth combs can be used when the hair is wet. Hard plastic brushes should be avoided as they will pull on your hair and cause your hair the damage.
  • How should I brush my hair?
When you brush your hair, you should always brush the ends of your extensions first. Be gentle with your hair. Work your way toward the link/bonds, brushing in a downward motion. You may also want to support your bonds by holding your hair like that. This will prevent you from pulling on your hair. You should always brush your hair before the bedtime and first thing in the morning. It will prevent your hair from tangling and will improve its appearance.
  • Which Shampoo & Conditioner should I use?
You can use Sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner.
  • How do I wash my extensions?
Lather shampoo at the scalp. Gently lather through the lengths of the extensions (do not aggressively rub through extensions, unless needed from buildup). Rinse hair as usual. Condition below the bonds on the lengths of the extensions only. Avoid the bond area, conditioner can weaken the bonds when applied directly on the bonds (causing shedding and deterioration of the extensions). Rinse hair as usual. Tip #1: As a general rule, the fewer times you wash, the longer the extensions will last you. 1-2 washes a week is ideal. Dry shampoo is recommended to keep oil under control. Tip #2: If washing frequently, be sure to use a mild or sulphate-free shampoo to prevent hair from drying out. Tip #3: If you use purple shampoo, DO NOT get it on the bonds, as it can cause the bonds to breakdown. Also, do not leave the purple shampoo on your hair for too long as your hair extensions may turn out too gray and become dry.
  • How do I dry my extensions?
You can allow your hair to air dry or blow dry it. Tip: If you like to air dry your hair, be sure to blow dry the scalp (bond area) on the cold or medium heat setting until completely dry and then allow the lengths to dry naturally on their own. The #1 cause of matting is allowing the bond area to remain damp or going to bed with wet hair.
  • Can I use hot tools to style my hair?
Yes, you can! Our hair 100% human hair. Straighteners, curling irons and hot rollers can be used as usual but be sure to avoid touching the bonds with extreme heat.
  • How do I sleep with my extensions?
Before going to sleep, tie back your hair or make a braid. Make sure it is loose. This will prevent unnecessary pulling and tugging while you sleep. Never sleep in wet hair. Sleeping with damp hair will cause matting!
  • Can I use hair care products on my extensions?
Yes, you can. You will want to use a heat protectant spray if you heat style your extensions regularly. Using smoothing oil on the ends of the hair extensions will ensure they stay nice and soft. You can use hairspray, leave-in spray conditioner, dry shampoo, and so on. TIP: DO NOT get any oil-based or silicone-containing products on the bonds.
  • My scalp is itching, why?"
It is normal for your scalp to be itchy the first 1-2 weeks. Your scalp is adjusting to more hair and may feel a bit dry at first. This will fade. It may take a couple nights to get used to the feeling of the extensions. If you have your extensions for more than 1 or 2 weeks and your scalp is itching, make sure you rinse your hair thoroughly in the root area when you wash it. The remains of the shampoo may irritate your scalp, making it itch.
  • Why do hair extensions get tangled?
This may be happening for two reasons: 1) Your extensions are of very poor quality. 2) You may not be following a proper extension care routine. If you are sure that the first case does not apply to you, you need to review your extension care routine. Maybe you are missing a thing or two that will make a huge difference in how your extensions will look and feel.
  • Can hair extensions be dyed?
Hair extensions made of natural human hair can be dyed, just as any other hair. However, the dyeing process may differ for extensions, as they underwent processing and may be a bit porous as a result. That is why you need to make sure that the person doing your hair knows the specifics of dyeing hair extensions.
  • What is the Keratin Hair Treatment?
The outer layer of your hair, known as the cuticle layer, consists of keratin, a type of durable protein. Keratin Treatment involves the application of a liquid version of this naturally-occurring protein to your hair, resulting in a sleeker and smoother look. Treatment cuts the hair-drying time roughly by half and improves the overall appearance of the mane, which makes this procedure appealing to women who have chemically-damaged hair, or are simply tired of fighting frizz and unruly flyaways.
  • Can this treatment be applied to Japanese straightening? How about highlighted, bleached, relaxed or chemically-treated hair?"
Yes, I provide this type of treatment for hair that has undergone any of the above-listed procedures. In fact, it is highly recommended that you do a Hair Botox Treatment after your hair has been bleached or permanently straightened (relaxed), as this helps moisturize your locks and replenish their health.
  • Are Keratin Treatment and Hair Nanoplastia relaxers?
No. They are keratin-based treatments that naturally straighten and restore your hair.
  • Should I dye my hair before or after the treatment?
You should wait for two weeks AFTER the treatment to dye your hair, as your hair dye may lighten the colour during the treatment.
  • When can I start washing my hair after the treatment?
It depends on the treatment. You may need to wash your hair withing 24 hours after your appointment, or you may have to wait for at least 2 days (full 48 hours) after the treatment before dampening your hair in any way. You will be instructed during your appointment on that matter.
  • Can I wear a ponytail or tie my hair afterwards?
Yes, but for best results, you must wait for at least 2 days (full 48 hours) after the treatment before you do so (does not apply to Hair Botox Treatment).
  • What should I do in case my hair gets wet, damp or excessively sweaty over the course of the first 2 days after the treatment?"
    Blow-dry immediately.
  • Is it okay to go swimming after the treatment?
Yes, but as mentioned above, please wait for at least 2 days after the treatment, to avoid accidentally dampening your hair. However you should avoid chlorine water after the treatment as it may wash it off.
  • Which shampoo and/or conditioner should I use after the treatment?
My suggestion is to use shampoos and conditioners that are free of sulphates or sodium chloride. Sulphates and sodium chloride are harsh detergents used in washing agents, such as dish soap. They penetrate the hair shaft deep under the cuticle, stripping away all natural oils, as well as any nourishing products applied during the treatment. This is why it is highly recommended avoiding any shampoos that contain these chemicals in your hair care routine. Otherwise, you risk rinsing the treatment product out of your locks in just a couple of washes!
  • Are treatment touch-ups applied to the entire head?
Yes. During the touch-up appointment, the treatment is applied to the entire head as keratin has the tendency to wash out over time, and may need to be replenished in every strand.
  • When should I repeat the treatment?
Once you see and feel that the product has been washed out of your hair almost entirely.
  • Should I get a haircut before the treatment?
You may have your hair cut before or after the procedure.
  • Can I apply hairspray, gel, mousse or any other hair products to my hair during the 2-day waiting period after the treatment?"
The quick answer to this question is no. Any such hair products would dampen your hair. Dampness will cause the hair cuticle to open, and the treatment keratin will wash out much faster as a result.
  • What should I do if I get any ridges in my hair while I sleep during the first 48 hours after the procedure?
You may use a blow-dryer or flat iron to straighten out any ridges in your hair.
  • Is it okay to do such a treatment if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
I always make sure to only use products that are safe. However, just to be on the safe side, I would advise you to refrain from undergoing any keratin procedures while pregnant or breastfeeding
